Shepshed Building Society Supports Local Olympic Hopeful Angela Hannah

Shepshed Building Society is proud to present a cheque for £300.00 to Angela Hannah, Kayaking GB Team.

Angela is part of the two boat crew training for the 2012 Olympic Games.  Angela trains full time and hopes to be part of the first British women’s crew to win an Olympic Gold next year in London.  She will be looking to secure qualification for 2012 this August in Hungary.

Angela added ‘..the generosity  shown by the Shepshed Building Society helps me get one step closer to representing Great Britain…next summer’.

Greg Williamson, Society Chief Executive added ‘We are delighted to help Angela achieve her goal at the 2012 London Olympic Games’.

Shepshed Building Society Supports Local Play Groups Grand Autumn Prize

Shepshed Building Society is delighted to confirm that it has presented a cheque for £50 to Belton Playgroup.

The donation will be used as the main raffle prize in the Playgroup’s Grand Autumn Prize.  The draw will be made at their Autumn Fayre on Saturday 29th October from 11 pm to 1 pm at The Village Hall, School Lane, Belton.

 Playgroup Leader, Samantha Pass said ‘We are very grateful to Shepshed Building Society for this kind donation, fund raising is what keeps the Playgroup going and we really value local support’.

Shepshed Building Society Supports Talented Dancer

Shepshed Building Society is pleased to be supporting Christopher Brown and recently presented him with a cheque for £200.00.

Christopher is about to begin studying a 1 year Post Graduate Diploma in Performance by serving as an apprentice dancer with the prestigious Richard Alston Dance Company.  Christopher beat 1500 other applicants to secure one of the two apprentice positions.

Christopher added’ The Society’s support will enable me to join the company and help develop my long-term career’.

Shepshed Building Society Continues Support of Hathern Horticultural Society Annual Show

Shepshed Building Society was happy to support the Society’s Annual Show with a cheque for £200.00.

The Hathern Horticultural Society Annual Show was held on the 28th August at the Three Crowns and is one of the last of its kind in the East Midlands.  The numbers for this event have grown year on year and this year they expect over 800 people.

The day included exhibiting and judging of the local produce and flowers along with craft stalls and attractions.  In the evening there was an auction of the produce with the proceeds going to local charities.

Mr. Reedman added ‘We would like to thank the Building Society for its continued support of this local event’.

Shepshed Special Community Bus Receives Affiliation Sponsorship Cheque

Shepshed Building Society was happy to present the Community Bus with a cheque for £264.93.

The payment represents the amount due under the Society’s Affiliation Sponsorship scheme for 2010.

The Community Bus has been a member of the scheme since September 2009.

The service can be provided for shopping, visiting friends & relatives, social activities, health appointments and in some cases for hospital appointments. It is available to the elderly, mobility impaired, rurally located and those who struggle with public transport community members.
